Managing a Brand in Marjin
Managing a brand in Marjin
Brands are used in Marjin for tagging Metrc items, assigning ownership to branded items, and grouping & filtering product in inventory.
Let's use Acme Cannabis to explore the different scenarios for adding brands to your organization. Currently Acme Cannabis is showing just one brand in its organization called Acme Premium Brand. Using the Acme Cannabis organization, we will claim a brand listed on Marjin, we will add a new brand that is not listed on Marjin, and we will sponsor a partner brand that does not have a license or account on Metrc.

Claiming your brands on Marjin
In addition to Acme Premium Brand, we'll add another brand to Acme Cannabis called Acme Budget Brand
Acme Budget Brand is listed on Marjin and has not been claimed yet, as shown by the grey unverified badge
We select that brand to claim and pull it into our organization.
We confirm that we are the owner of the brand we are claiming to finish adding the brand to our organization.
We now see both Acme Premium Brand and the newly added Acme Budget Brand in the brands tab of our organization.
Adding a brand to Marjin
We'll add another brand to Acme Cannabis called Acme Wholesale Brand
This time, the brand we are looking for is not list in Marjin...
...so we'll click the black button to add a new brand to Marjin.
Fill out the brief form to submit the new brand to Marjin
Once the new brand has been submitted and activated on Marjin, we will see it in our organization under the brands tab.
Sponsoring partner brands
We'll also sponsor a partner brand called Tim's Cannabis
Tim does not have a license but buys product from Acme Wholesale Brand to send directly to his processor. This allows Tim to see his product throughout the supply chain at his various supply chain partner facilities, as long as his partners are on Marjin and have assigned his branded items back to Tim's org called Tim's Cannabis
Start by clicking the Sponsor Brand button in the organization toolbar.
Find the partner brand on the Marjin network.
Review the selected brand and add the brand owner's contact email address.
If the submission to sponsor a partner brand is successful, we will see a success confirmation in the footer of the browser window and we'll now see a Brand Invites tab in our Manage Organization page.
You can see all the pending invites under this tab and either resend invites or delete them using the actions on each invite (three dots).
Accepted invites will automatically be removed from the list. If there are no more pending brand invites, the Brand Invites tab will also disappear.
When the brand invite wizard is completed, the brand owner contact will receive the email invite to claim their brand.
Creating a brand-only organization
(for unlicensed brands)
Receiving a sponsored brand invite from a verified or on Marjin enables even unlicensed brands to see their inventory at facilities of their licensed supply chain partners.
During the onboarding process, a brand owner simply accepts the invite to claim their brand on Marjin.
The brand owner sets the brand organization's name.
The brand organization has been created successfully.
The brand organization Tim's Cannabis has now been created without requiring a license or Metrc key.
Tim's supply chain partners who hold Tim's product at their licensed facilities can now share visibility on the items in inventory that are brand with Tim's Cannabis brand.
